Working Offline
Keep selling and managing your store even when the internet drops — offline mode is available on the Grow plan and above.
Getting ready to work offline
The app prepares itself so it keeps working when your connection drops.
- Open the app while you are online — it automatically saves the POS, Inventory, and Sales screens along with their data to your device.
- Watch the sync dot in the top navigation. It turns green and shows "Ready to work offline" once both the app and all of its data are saved.
- If you are using the app for the first time, connect to the internet once before going offline. Until then you will see "Connect to the internet to get started".
- Offline mode is available on the Grow plan and above.
- Switching stores resets offline readiness until the new store's data has been saved.
Reading the sync status indicator
A colored dot in the top navigation shows whether you are online and ready to work offline.
- Find the colored sync dot in the top navigation. For a fuller view, open Settings and go to Sync.
- Read the color: green means you are online and offline-ready; an amber pulse means offline data is still being prepared; a green pulse means queued changes are syncing; gray means you are offline; orange means sync retries have run out; red means a sync issue needs your attention.
- Tap the dot to open a panel showing your online status, offline readiness, how many changes are waiting to sync, and when you last synced.
- Offline mode is available on the Grow plan and above.
Selling while offline
Keep checking out customers even when your internet is down.
- Build the cart and check out as usual, even with no connection.
- The sale records immediately with a temporary transaction ID, and your stock and sales history update on the device right away.
- When your connection returns, the sale syncs automatically and its temporary ID is replaced by the real transaction ID.
- Offline mode is available on the Grow plan and above.
- Offline sales are timestamped when you make them, not when they sync.
- Queued sales are kept even if you close the app.
- If a queued sale cannot be accepted on sync — for example a stock conflict — it is rolled back and your cart is restored with a message so you can ring it up again.
What works offline (and what doesn't)
An overview of which tasks keep working offline and which ones need a connection.
- Offline, you can record sales, edit a sale's notes, status, and tags, create and edit products, change store settings, manage customers, and toggle an event's live status.
- You can browse the POS, Inventory, and Sales screens offline — sales history goes back to the start of the previous month.
- Some tasks always need an internet connection: switching stores, subscription and billing changes, team invitations and member management, image uploads and deletes, deleting products, managing categories, options, services, and locations, exporting CSV files, and first-time setup.
- Any screen other than POS, Inventory, and Sales shows an "Offline" page with instructions when you are not connected.
- Offline mode is available on the Grow plan and above.
- Saved data expires after 7 days offline — you will see "Connect to refresh data".
Syncing when you reconnect and fixing sync issues
Queued changes sync automatically when you are back online, and anything that fails is shown so you can fix it.
- When your connection returns, queued changes replay automatically on a staggered schedule, from 5 seconds up to 5 minutes. The sync dot pulses green while syncing and settles on green once the queue is empty.
- If a change keeps failing, it becomes a sync issue and the dot turns red. Open Settings and go to Sync to see each issue with a clear label, a timestamp, and Retry and Discard actions.
- Use "Clear all" to discard several issues at once. Issues also retry automatically while you are online.
- If an offline sale fails, your cart is restored so you can ring it up again.
- Offline mode is available on the Grow plan and above.
- No data is silently lost — every failure is shown and can be retried or discarded.
